Top Places to See in Downtown ATL

This is my quick list for a first timer in ATL! Downtown Atlanta is a perfect spot for tourists. The attractions are all walking distance within each other, and when you want to take a break, there's the lovely Centennial Park right in the middle of Downtown Atlanta for you to relax in.

1. Georgia Aquarium

Did you know the Georgia Aquarium is the largest in the Western Hemisphere? It is the only Aquarium out of Asia that houses whale sharks, which is the largest fish in the world. According to atlanta.curbed.com, the aquarium is undergoing a major expansion set to open in 2020. More reason to check this aquarium out.

2. World of Coca Cola

A very interactive place for you to learn about the history of Coke. How it got started in Atlanta, fun self tours, and you can't miss the different soft drink flavors from around the world!

3. CNN Tour

Are you a news buff? Curious on what goes on behind the scenes when you're watching CNN? Check out the CNN headquarters nearby and check out the "inside CNN VIP Tour." It shows you behind the scenes with access to the working studios of CNN worldwide. Make sure to reserve these at least 24 hours in advanced. You can also do walk ins, but tickets are first come first served basis.

5. Westin Hotel - Revolving Restaurant (Sundial Restaurant)

A restaurant that revolves on top of the Westin hotel with an amazing view of downtown ATL?? What?? Yes, it is true. Come here for a romantic date night, or come here with friends and family enjoying the views of the city. The whole top floor of the hotel slowly spins, letting you see all angles of ATL. There is no cover fee for this, so go on and enjoy this place!
